When It’s Over, Better Is Coming
When I left my dead end life of living my way, I entered into eternal life with Jesus Christ, where His way has proven to be much better. I loved playing baseball. When my time playing was over, I entered into a prison ministry at the Adobe Mountain youth prison, where I could now disciple young men on a regular basis. After my ministry at Adobe Mountain was over, I became the leader of a Christian acting ministry for five and a half years, where I was able to stimulate Christians to live with increased zeal and introduce numerous lost souls to new life in Jesus Christ.
I never wanted to leave the Special Delivery Acting Ministry, but after closing the doors while we were experiencing our highest demand, it was over. The call to shepherd God’s flock in Black canyon City came through shortly thereafter. Ministry opportunities were about to expand more than ever before. When you are truly surrendered to Jesus Christ, and something you thoroughly love and enjoy is over, something better is coming.
The apostles did not want Jesus to leave but His time on earth was over. Shortly after His ascension, God the Holy Spirit was superimposed onto the one hundred twenty believers in an upper room on the day of Pentecost. They were no longer timid or afraid of anyone. God could now send them to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world with Holy Spirit power, and that was much better.
When Peter’s first sermon on Pentecost was over, Peter and John met a man lame from birth who could have never climb up those stairs to the upper room. Once that glorious experience in the upper room was over, the upper room took the good news down to the general public. Peter and John came down the stairs to the man on the ground, who was then healed in Jesus’ mighty name. Something better was coming.
